CompactUE is an Unreal Engine Editor plugin designed to reclaim screen real estate by reorganizing and streamlining the editor's interface.
It utilizes the Slate architecture to manipulate existing widgets without modifying engine source code, making it an ideal tool for developers on laptops, small monitors, or who just want to min-max working space.

Installation
- On your Epic Games Store Launcher navigate to Library > Fab Library, on the search write CompactUE, click on the Install to Engine button and select the engine version you want to install it for.
- Open an project on the Unreal Engine version you installed the plugin at.
- With the editor opened, click Edit > Plugins , search for CompactUE and enable the plugin.
- When prompted to restart, click to restart the editor
Getting Started
Once installed, a new Compact Mode button will appear in the Level Editor toolbar.
- Toggle Compact Mode: Click the toolbar button or use the mapped shortcut ( default: Alt+M ) to switch between the default and compact interface.
- Accessing Menus: In Compact Mode the menu bar is hidden, to show it you can hover over the Unreal Engine icon on the top left corner, and it will automatically hide once you move away from it. If you want to lock it on the title bar you can either click on lock icon that appears when you hover the Unreal Engine logo, or toggle it with the mapped shortcut ( default: M ).
